Report on the Audit of the Financial Statements (cont’d)

Auditor’s Responsibilities for the Audit of the Financial Statements (cont’d)

We communicate with the Directors regarding, among other matters, the planned scope and timing

of the audit and significant audit findings, including any significant deficiencies in internal control that

we identify during our audit.

We also provide the Directors with a statement that we have complied with relevant ethical requirements

regarding independence, and to communicate with them all relationships and other matters that may

reasonably be thought to bear on our independence, and where applicable, related safeguards.

From the matters communicated with the Directors, we determine those matters that were of most

significance in the audit of the financial statements of the Group and of the Company for the current

year and are therefore the key audit matters. We describe these matters in our auditors’ report

unless law or regulation precludes public disclosure about the matter or when, in extremely rare

circumstances, we determine that a matter should not be communicated in our report because the

adverse consequences of doing so would reasonably be expected to outweigh the public interest

benefits of such communication.

Report on Other Legal and Regulatory Requirements

In accordance with the requirements of the Companies Act, 1965 in Malaysia, we also report the

following:

(a) In our opinion, the accounting and other records and the registers required by the Act to be kept

by the Company and its subsidiaries of which we have acted as auditors have been properly

kept in accordance with the provisions of the Act.

(b) We have considered the accounts of the subsidiary of which we have not acted as auditors, which

are indicated in Note 9 to the financial statements, being accounts that have been included in

the consolidated accounts.

(c) We are satisfied that the accounts of the subsidiaries that have been consolidated with the

Company’s financial statements are in form and content appropriate and proper for the purposes

of the preparation of the financial statements of the Group and we have received satisfactory

information and explanations required by us for those purposes.

(d) Our audit reports on the accounts of the subsidiaries did not contain any qualification or any

adverse comment made under Section 174(3) of the Act execpt as disclosed in Note 9 to the

financlial statements.
